The Snow Trainers Company

Snow Trainers began ski and snowboard instructor training courses in Queenstown, New Zealand in 2002. Snow Trainers was founded by David Poussard and Matt Phare, two instructors from Coronet Peak and The Remarkables ski areas in Queenstown.

At the time Snow Trainers started David and Matt were already training people to become instructors for the ski fields, but they knew it could be done in a more effective and fun way – so Snow Trainers began!

With their experience as current examiners for the NZSIA / SBINZ they knew exactly what was required for students to achieve their qualifications and also knew ahead of time any changes planned for these qualifications. It didn't take long at all for Snow Trainers to become one of the leading and most successful programs in New Zealand.

The Snow Trainers Philosophy

Snow Trainers philosophy is about providing you with a rewarding, fun and memorable experience. Professional training is definitely important which is why you will find David and Matt out on the snow sharing their knowledge and experience.

It’s pretty easy to lose touch with what real students need to know when you’re in an office all day which is why Snow Trainers’ founders David and Matt hire other people to sit in the office. They want to give you the best possible commitment and dedication and the only way to do this is on the snow!

“I made the choice long ago not to sit in an office all day. I’m passionate about the snow and I want to pass that on to as many people as possible, I can’t do that from behind a desk!” says Snow Trainers Director David Poussard.
